Timothy Arthur Brosnan, longtime resident of Morton Grove, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2022 after a brief illness. Born on May 2, 1956 on Chicago’s northwest side, Tim went to Maine East High School before attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Health Sciences.
Tim was an avid tennis player and fanatic, teaching the sport to youth and adults in Florida and the Chicago area. He was an admirer of Roger Federer’s beautiful one-handed backhand. Tim also rooted for the Chicago Bears, Bulls, and his beloved Cubs, for whom his father pitched in the 1950s. Tim had a big heart, especially for the downtrodden and sick.
Tim will be sadly missed by his family, including: his sister Kimberlee (Doug) Brosnan-Myers, brother-in-law Bill (Susan) Kruidenier; nieces and nephews Jeremy (Jill) Kruidenier, Ryan (Mary Lee) Kruidenier, Hilary Myers, and Kevin Myers; great nieces and nephews Lily, Saoirse, James, and Finn Kruidenier; uncle Michael (Sandy) Brosnan, and numerous cousins and extended family. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Anne Brosnan, and his dear sister Jamie Kruidenier, née Brosnan.
A memorial visitation will take place on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Simkins Funeral Home 6251 Dempster St. Morton Grove, IL 60053, with a dinner following at Hackney’s on Lake in Glenview. A private internment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please honor Tim by making a contribution in his memory to the Tennis Opportunity Program https://www.toptennischicago.org/.
