Shirley (Huyssen) Swearingen

Shirley Swearingen, born on November 13, 1936, and passed on October 17, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Jerry Swearingen; loving mother of Julie Higgins and Greg Swearingen; adoring grandmother of Jorden Higgins (fiance' Brad Eilers); fond sister in law of Wanda (the late Bill) Weinrich, and the late Dallas (Mary) Swearingen, Wayne (Kay) Swearingen, Wava (Shorty) Hayes, and Zelma Rose (Bob) Travers; wonderful aunt of Rod (Cheryl) Hayes, Nancy (John) Kelly, Leslie (Bill) Rhoades, Bradley (Rita) Swearingen, Brenda (the late Wayne) Pruett, Janet (Paul) Fruit, Dean Slayback, Mickey (Anne) Travers, and the late Christine (Larry) Thomas, and Jimmy Swearingen; devoted great and great great aunt of many; loyal and cherished friend of many. Shirley was a special education teacher and speech therapist for Glenkirk, the Glenview public schools, and NSSED for over 40 years. Shirley lived a life full of joy, faith, and love; giving to and teaching others. She exuded a kind, calm spirit - welcoming everyone she met with a smile. She cherished her family and her friendships, providing thoughtful wisdom, and amazing, unconditional support.
