Sharon Schillinger passed away on August 21, 2021 in New Port Richey, Florida, where she had retired with her husband, Jim. (Originally from Niles, IL)
She and Jim were blessed with a great marriage that would have marked 50 years this coming New Year's Eve. They were world travelers together and their adventures began with a honeymoon in Columbia. They enjoyed cruising and have been to most of the islands in the Caribbean. They've crossed the equator, been to Peru and cruised the Amazon River.
Sharon worked as a hairdresser for decades in Niles. But any of her 'customers' (AKA friends) knew her as much more than that. Sharon was a generous friend and counselor, bunko organizer, ceramicist, promoter, supporter, Wisconsin gambling junket leader and someone you could always count on. Her relationships were rich and lifelong.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Jim Schillinger, her sister, Terry Mueller, and her brother, Dale Mueller, and his family, and numerous cousins.
A memorial visitation celebrating Sharon's life will be held on Sunday, September 26th from 12:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Simkins Funeral Home 6251 Dempster St. Morton Grove, IL 60053. We will have a Memory Table. Please bring any photos you want to share or perhaps something memorable she made for you or gifted to you. (Mark items with your name.) There will be a Eulogy and an opportunity for friends and family to share a remembrance of our dearest Sharon. (847) 965-2500
