Richard "Dick" Kloser, 96, of Morton Grove, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2023. Dick was born at his home on the southside of Chicago on March 21, 1927, and as a true "SouthSider" was always friendly to everyone he met. He attended Leo High School, and one of the highlights of his life was when his basketball team, where he played guard, won the All City Championship in 1945.
Dick was drafted into the US Army, and served his country at the end of World War II. He attended Loyola University at Chicago on the GI Bill. When asked what his favorite part of college was, he would always reply that grabbing a beer with his teachers at the end of the semester was what he liked the most. Dick married the love of his life, Dorothy Agnew, on May 16, 1953, and they raised their 5 children in Morton Grove. They were happily married for 61 years before Dorothy's passing in 2014. He had a successful career in the trucking industry, and was actively involved in his church at St. Martha's and the local community.
Dick carried on the family tradition of living a long and industrious life. He is survived by his 5 children Richard T.(Joanne), John (Michele), Cathy (The late Larry) Munoz, Chuck (Julie), David (Susan), his beloved 10 grandchildren, his brother in law Howard (Sharon) Hart, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Per Dick's wishes, a private memorial mass will be held at St. Martha Church in Morton Grove. In lieu of flowers, donations to Misericordia Home 6300 N. Ridge Ave. Chicago, IL 60660 https://www.misericordia.com/giving/donate-online/ are appreciated. (847) 965-2500
