Marcella "Sally" (Leider) Dickman

Marcella (Leider) Dickman, age 97 went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on May 18, 2020. She was born and raised in Evanston, Illinois to Susan and Frank Leider and attended Evanston Township High School. Sally married William(Bill) Dickman in 1943 and they resided in Morton Grove, Illinois for most of their lives together. Sally loved being in her own home and remained there even after Bill’s passing in 2007. She led a very active and fulfilling life spending time and traveling with all her many family members across the country; she would never be left behind whenever there was a family adventure planned. Sally loved Jesus and had a deep faith; she attended church regularly and enjoyed cleaning the church on a weekly basis until she physically could no longer do so. She had many friends of all ages and people knew her by her contagious smile and laugh.  She loved conversation, puzzles, knitting, playing games and just spending time with her family. She never complained and was always up for an adventure.Sally was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her son, Tom and her  siblings; Frank, Benjamin, and Eugene Leider, Angeline Hausmann, Suzanne Wissel, and Evelyn Olsen.

She is survived by her children, Bruce (Donna), Jerry (Meladee), Marie (Fred) Robbins, Patty (Tim) Mytton, Barb (Rick) Little, Susan (late Mike) Radziewicz, Bob (Renee’), 37 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and her sister Marian (Jim) Meek.

Due to the Corona Virus restrictions, we are unable to have a traditional funeral service and reception in our Mother’s honor.  We plan to have a Celebration of Life when restrictions have been lifted.  We will notify friends and relatives at a later date when we are able to hold the event; since we won’t have the traditional funeral home Guest sign-in information we ask that anyone who is interested in attending the celebration but feels we may not have their contact information to please contact any of the Dickman family members.
