Jack Morris Obituary

Dr. Jack Morris (born in Chicago IL) of Lincolnwood IL, and formerly long-time resident of Evanston IL and Lake Worth FL, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2021 at the age of 90. Jack married Charlotte Miller and together they raised three children. Jack earned a PhD in Education, which he obtained while working and raising his family. Jack found joy in many things in life; one of them being sports. He began his career as a Physical Education teacher and retired years later as a Principal at Niles North High School in Skokie, IL. In retirement, Jack couldn’t give up his love for sports, so he coached girls and boys tennis at Niles West High School. Jack enjoyed the game of tennis so much that it became an integral part of his life. He played tennis competitively into his 80’s and was lucky enough to pass the love for the sport down to his family. With all the friends Jack has made from playing the game, we are sure that he has found some of his old tennis partners and is racking up some wins!

With all the trials and tribulations Jack endured, he always found a way to crack a joke and bring a smile to everyone’s face around him. Jack cared immensely for his family; he always wanted to share a good meal together, know how they were doing, if there were any new life updates, and know how their car was doing.

Jack’s kindness and memory will live on with his loving wife, Charlotte of 68 years, son Loren (Roberta) Morris, and daughters Debbie (Cary) Kaferly, and Shari (Gregory) Merritt. Jack deeply loved his 9 grandchildren; Tara (Joe) Green, Caitlin Morris (Matt Pearson), Zachary (Melissa) Morris, Benjamin Morris, Grace Morris, Colleen Kaferly, Kyle Kaferly, Megan Merritt, Paige Merritt, and his 5 great grandchildren; Oliver Green, Emmett Green, Evelyn Morris, Jack Morris, and Maya Pearson. He is also survived by his sisters Betty Fertel and Shirley Douglas.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Minnie Morris and his siblings, Bertha Morris, Abraham Morris, Harry Morris, Sonny (Martin) Morris, Eleanor Barnes, and Miriam Morris.
