Gerald L. Wallenberg, age 85, passed away peacefully and faith filled on May 24th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He is now at peace and resting in the arms of God. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Patty, since April 1979. Jerry was a family man. His generous spirit is carried on by his former wife, Loretta Wallenberg; eight children, Cheryl (Gary) Parker, Alan (Anne) Wallenberg, Ken (Joy) Wallenberg, Joan Wallenberg, Michael (Marisa) Wallenberg, Kelly (Craig) Von Ahn, Paul (Mary Kate) Wallenberg and Annie (Alex) Squiers; and 13 grandchildren, Jimmy, Tori, Tiffany, Lexi, Jo Jo, Makayla, Olivia, Maddie, Aidan, Ruby, Cooper, Sully and the late Angela; and many fond friends he turned family.
Jerry was born in Chicago on May 11, 1938, to (the late) Frank and Juanita Wallenberg, He was the youngest of two boys; brother to (the late) Frank Wallenberg.
Jerry lived his whole life in the Chicagoland area; moving to Morton Grove in 1978. Jerry was the former owner of Halogen Pool Supplies for 45 years. A businessman and friend to many, he was past president of the Midwest Chapter of National Spa and Pool Institute.
Jerry never met a stranger. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and great love.
Funeral from Simkins Funeral Home 6251 Dempster St., Morton Grove on Wednesday, May 31st, 9:30 a.m. to St. Martha Church 8523 Georgiana Ave., Morton Grove, and Mass 10 a.m. Private Cremation following Mass. Visitation on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Notre Dame College Prep (7655 Dempster St., Niles, IL 60714) in honor of Jerry is appreciated. Jerry's four sons and grandson attended, and Jerry's education at Weber taught him faith values that were his core.
