Edward Schuller Obituary

Edward A. Schuller, 38, of Palatine, beloved son of Mary and the late Edward; dear brother of August and Katherine (Joseph) Pauley; loving uncle of JJ, Bennett and Rylan. Eddie passed away due to health complications during a hospital stay on March 17th, 2023.

Eddie was born and raised in Lincolnwood,  before moving to Palatine. He attended Niles West High school and Northern Illinois University.

Eddie was a self-proclaimed favorite son, and it was easy to see why. He had a heart of gold and a contagious smile that lit up any room. He was a loving brother, uncle, and friend to many. He was the best friend to his big brothers August and Garry, and was always there to protect and support his little sister Katie. Eddie loved spending time with his nephews and was the best playmate for his nephews when it came to playing in the pool. He loved all animals, but was especially fond of his loyal partner in crime and guardian German Shepherd, Reus.

Eddie was known for leaving early, and this time, he left us all too soon. During his time with us, he made sure to be present and engaged with those around him. Eddie taught us by example to only care about what is truly important, to follow your passion, and to live every moment to the fullest. He was a dependable person who would always be there when you needed him. Whether it was for a listening ear or a helping hand, he was always willing to lend his support…unless you needed him to help tie down a houseboat during a thunderstorm in the middle of the night on the Mississippi River, in that case you could find him fishing off the back of said houseboat, without a care in the world.

Throughout his life, Eddie made many lasting connections. He was involved in cub scouts and played baseball in Lincolnwood. He also ran cross country, played tennis every weekend, and bowled in a league. He shared his love for bowling with his nephews during their weekly trips together to the lanes. Eddie was also an avid golfer and enjoyed playing on Saturdays with his brothers, friends, and even strangers… some of whom he may have introduced himself to as Frank von Stuben. Eddie was incredibly proud of his achievements at work and was often at the top of the leaderboard during his career with MVTRAC and Motorola Solutions.

Eddie's memory will live on through all the lives he touched. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends, but his kind heart, joyful spirit and infectious laughter will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Eddie. A Memorial Service will be held on his birthday, Saturday April 22nd at 2:00pm at St. Martha Church Auditorium 8523 Georgiana Ave. Morton Grove, Illinois
