Obituary

Bobby was born June 2nd 1956 and died October 29th 2016. He was a person who could have you laughing in one second and in a serious conversation a second later. He loved to learn new things and he loved to share his knowledge with other people. Another of his great loves in this world was the Red Sox, especially Carl Yastrzemski. You really knew you were important if he told you that he loved you more than Carl Yastrzemski. Those of us left behind will miss his quest for new jokes or just old jokes nobody's heard before. He would help anybody anytime with anything. If he didn't know how to do it he learned how to do it. If you were the random stranger laying on the street bleeding he was the one that would help you and call for other help. He loved to coach baseball and he loved to do anything concerning the V-Show. Playing music at Mass with Glenn Schallmo was a joy to him. Bobby leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Mary; his daughter Rachel (Laura); his son Joshua; and granddaughter Felicity. He also leaves his parents, Robert L Trahan, Sr and Dorothy(Dot) Trahan; his sister Nicky; sister Margaret(Peggie) Brousseau; brother Gary Trahan; niece Erin; nephew Henri and "outlaws" Tracy Perry and George ("SF") Brousseau. He will be mourned by many as a good friend. And remembered by many more as that silly, funny, giving and caring guy we used to know. Funeral from Simkins Funeral Home 6251 Dempster St. Morton Grove, IL 60053 Wednesday at 12 noon to St. Paul of the Cross Church 320 S. Washington Ave. Park Ridge, IL 60068. Mass at 12:30 p.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 9 a.m. to 12 noon. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you pass on the memory of our Bobby and care for one another even if it just means being silly when it's needed. Pitch in where you can, and never take others for granted as sometimes life goes by way too fast. (847) 965-2500
