Robert Nelson Ockerlund, 65, of Williams Bay, Wisconsin, formerly of Glenview, and Northbrook, beloved husband of Sharon, nee Hartfield; loving father of Kasey (Connor) Atkison and Kyle (girlfriend Nicole Clarke); fond brother of Craig (the late Susan) Ockerlund, Loralee (the late Lynn) Carpenter and the late Linda Williams and her son John (Amy) Williams ; dear son in law of JoAnn Bitterman; cherished brother in law of Jeff (Brenda) Hartfield, Greg (Kim) Hartfield, and Paul Hartfield; proud uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Robert will always be remembered for his love of cooking and the way that he shared his love for his family and friends by having a meal together, standing at the grill in the summer, or baking and gifting hundreds of Norwegian cookies during the holiday season. Everyone who knew Robert also knew of his love of fishing. Whether he was asking to cast one more line in Valley Lo or yelling "Get it in the boat!" in Williams Bay, we knew an excellent fish dinner was coming soon!

Memorial visitation at Simkins Funeral Home 6251 Dempster St. Morton Grove, IL 60053 on Saturday, March 29th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. There will be a celebration of life at Whiskey River Bar & Grill 1850 Waukegan Rd.
