Robert J. Meier, 86, of Plainfield, former long time resident of Morton Grove passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Marianne, nee Birmingham; loving father of Diane (the late Robert) Kussman, Joan (Carl) Johanson, Marlene (Lee) Holland, and the late Donald (Patricia); dear grandfather of David (Laura) Johanson, Michael (Clara) Johanson, Daniel (Amber) Santoro, Dana (Matt) Hanlon, and Robert Santoro; cherished great grandfather of Lucas, Logan, Kaylee, Ryan, Emily, William, Elise, Adrian, Bruce, and Charles; devoted son of the late Luke and Dorothy, nee Baker; fond brother of the late Richard (Dorothy, nee Crain); proud uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was the last surviving member of the Morton Grove Volunteer Fire Department, and was retired from The Morton Grove Public Works Water Department.
