Nuncio Arthur "Art" Metallo, 86, formerly of Morton Grove, beloved husband of Nancy, nee Spizziri; loving father of Cheryl (Rick) Bischoff, Susan Metallo, and Lou (Kristi) Metallo; dear Papa of Steven (Niki) , Julie (Felipe), Patrick (Lauren), Kevin (Elle), Jack, Ted, AJ, Drew; cherished great grandpa to 4 great grandsons. Born December 23, 1936, oldest child of Louis and Carmella,nee Tenuto, Metallo, brother of Carole, Fran (Sal) Falcone, Bobby Metallo; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins in the extended Metallo, Tenuto Spizziri, Arcieri families. Known by so many names - Sonny to family and Art to all his friends. Uncle Art. Papa Art. Earlier years known to us as the Indian Princess Big Bear, Best Daddy Daughter Dancer, St Martha's Church Permanent Deacon - Deacon Art. The true family Piano Man - originally the Accordion Boy - all self taught and played by ear. Founder of St Martha's Teen Cub. He taught us to give back and do for others - at a very early age - volunteering at soup kitchens and also singing songs at nursing homes. Jewel Foods Grocery store manager later turn St Francis Hospital and Ressurection Hospitals Pastoral Care Director - his true passion in life to care for others. He received the National Chaplains Association Chaplain of the Year Award upon his retirement. And lastly - Mr Game Show man - fond of every game show - but with his Jewel background could still beat anyone at The Price is Right. Parkinson's may have slowed him down - but was one of the strongest, hardest working, caring and loving man to all.
