September 22, 1929 – August 18, 2021
Nancy A. Hillinger, nee Dumont, 91, of Morton Grove and Glenview, beloved wife of the late Robert G. (Bob); Passed away peacefully Aug. 18th at Friendship village in Schaumburg. Preceded in death by her parents Marion nee Saunders and Leo Dumont, her sisters Betty (Dan) Scanlon and Barbara White, survived by her brother in law John (Antoinette) White. Nancy cherished close family ties, and to insure that, organized a recurring event called Nan and Bob Fest where all children, spouses and grandchildren would vacation together at an all inclusive resort for a week. These bi-yearly celebrations provided irreplaceable memories for all. Nancy loved talking on the phone to all her friends and family daily, cooking, baking zucchini bread, and making soup for all. Nancy was an avid traveler and has visited over 25 countries with her husband Bob, with whom she co-owned Glenbrook Auto Parts in Glenview since the 1960's. She loved and treasured the NAPA family as her own. Vacation trips included Europe, the Far East, Australia, Africa, and their favorite, Mexico.
Nancy was a devoted mother to her children; Linda (John) Balogh, John (Martha) Hillinger, Susan (Kent Henderson) Hillinger, Donna (Greg) Gastel, Ray (Mary) Hillinger and Mary (Joseph) Richert; beloved grandmother of Bob (Gina) Balogh, Jessica (Jason) Rhoades, Jeremy (Tamara) Balogh, Leo Gastel, Kimberly (Adrian) Rivera, Joseph (Renee) Hillinger, Steven Hillinger, Elizabeth (Kyle) Kett, Joshua (Ting) Hillinger, Jacob (Cari) Hillinger, Jasper (Marissa Marleau) Hillinger, Ed (Tim) Gastel-Wardell, Hilary (Joshua) Mangiagli, Derek (Kaylee) Hillinger, Jack Hillinger, Cody (Addie Moody) Richert and Miranda (Andrew) Rockenseuss; loving great grandmother of 12; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from Simkins Funeral home 6251 Dempster St. Morton Grove Saturday 9:30 a.m. to St. Martha Church 8523 Georgiana Ave. Morton Grove, IL 60053, Mass 10 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Visitation Friday 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to St, Martha Small Church Fund appreciated. 847-965-2500
