LeRoy S. Kwiatt of Glenview, at rest August 4, 2014, beloved husband of Kathleen; dear father of Kevin (Lynn), Kelly (Tom) Ipjian and Kent (Thuy); loving grandfather of Christina and recent grandfather of Gon and baby Kim. He was crazy about his grandpets. Funeral service Saturday Aug. 9th 11:00 a.m. at Simkins Funeral Home 6251 Dempster St. Morton Grove. Cremation private. Visitation Friday 3 to 8 p.m. LeRoy always remembered fondly the years of growth and camaradery he experienced after rushing to enlist in the Air Force at 17 and training as a B-25 mechanic. Later in life, he was immensely proud of his consistent top tier sales achievements during his 36 years working for Schering Plough in support of his wife and family. LeRoy dedicated himself to his family and community through participation in the P.T.A., Little League and many years as the equipment manager for Glenview Junior Football. After retirement, he dedicated his time and efforts at the Illinois Railway Museum and their ILRM library in Marengo. Fridays would be spent with the "pizza guys" enjoying the continued camaraderie and warmth of his beloved post retiree friends. Thank you to our many A-Abiding caregivers for their professional and caring attention, all of whom consistently brightened our days. And special thanks to everyone at Rainbow Hospice, especially Angie and Martha, our "hospice angels." Rest in peace dad.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Rainbow Hospice 1550 Bishop Ct. Mt.
