Kent Alexander Smith, 59, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2018 with his beloved daughter, Alexis by his side.  Loving father to Alexis, Kent is also survived by his siblings; Mark (Mary), Monica (Ned) Grannis, Steve (Sue), and Sheila Delaney, as well as the treasured uncle of many nephews and nieces.  Kent retired in 2017 following a long and prolific career with the Army Corps of Engineers.  Although he will be greatly missed by many here on earth, he is reunited in heaven by his wife, Myrna and parents Hamilton and Phyllis Smith, as well as his father and mother-in-law Dominador and Leonora Deocampo. A celebration of his life will commence at St. Michael Church 1633 N. Cleveland Ave. Chicago, IL 60614 with a memorial visitation at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 3rd, follwed by a 10:30 a.m. memorial mass. (847) 965-2500
