Betty Morten Mitchell, 87, of Northfield, Illinois passed away on January 23, 2025.  Born in Columbus, Kentucky, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Joseph G. Mitchell; parents Curtis and Fannie Morten; brothers William "Grundy" (Carol) Morten, Ralph (Vera) Morten, Gene Morten; sisters Barbara (John F.) Toon, Ruth (Paul) Harman, and Ada Gertrude Morten. She is survived by her sons Joseph Grant Mitchell of Northfield and Michael Lee (Leslie) Mitchell of Terre Haute, IN; grandson Joseph Dalton (Ashton) Mitchell; stepgrandson Steele Manwaring; great-grandson James Mitchell; sister Nancy (Jimmy) Henley; brother-in-law, John F. Toon, Jr.; nieces Debra (Richard) Kluk, John R. (Yvonne) Morten Jr., Pamela (Domenic) Fotino, Paula (Dale) Shubert, Kelly (Billy) Murphy, Cindy Toon Williams, Mylene (Doug) Cromwell ,and Dia (Robert) Mitchell Canter; nephews Rick (Linda) Mitchell, Dr. Kevin (Amy)Toon, and David (Cindy) Henley; as well as many great nieces and nephews.
