Dear Mensching Family,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear Mikey. I first met him playing Friday night Co-ed softball at Howard Park probably about 17 years ago. He was always smiling, always greeting everyone, always asking about how we were and what was new. He was a great player and had friends on all the teams. I am sure you know what an angel on earth you had in him and I will miss seeing him. May your sweet memories of Mikey carry you in your time of grief.

An absolutely beautiful tribute to Mike! We had the pleasure of knowing Mike during 4th grade at Central School, when we moved to Wilmette. He did wear a smile, was always happy, hugged everyone, and cheered his fellow Special Olympians on every year! Bowling was his passion, as everything he tried. He wasn't a quitter!
Tony Bower described Mike as a very warm hearted guy! Whitney always laughed with Mike, and Mike would cheer Whitney up and listen to her! A genuine, caring friend -- a smile that will truly be missed but not forgotten! Love you Mike

To the family of Michael James Mensching you are in my thoughts and prayers. Earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal. Keep your eyes to the hills from whench cometh your help, your help comes from the Lord. It was a true blessing from God to know Michael because every time I ran into him he had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. I will miss him very much. All my love to you. Puresa Kirkman.

For a time, Mike was a member of Singles for Family and Life (SFL) here in Chicago. It is a ministry of Couples for Christ - Foundation for Family and Life (CFC-FFL). Mike loved the Praise & Worship we have in our Community during our gatherings. He is so enthusiastic and jolly. His worship is so pure. He is easily admired by everyone. Our Community is praying for him. God bless you Mike!

I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love. -Leo Buscaglia
Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know that they are happy.

I'm a widow with 3 kids one with special needs one with learning disabilities. We met Mike 10 years ago through special Olympics. Mike and other people on the team open their hearts to us and welcomed us. Mike was very helpful with my youngest and than later with my eldest. He showed such compassion for my family. We would watch him play at his soft ball games and his bowling games. He would play basketball ball with my youngest as if he was her big brother. He was a wonderful and kind hearted person. This family will never forget him. You all are in are prayers at this time.

Mike was someone I first met at Hibbard park as his dad was coaching little league, his sister was hanging out behind the plate and boomer was running around. I had seen him before but never really met him. Not sure why I remember that day, but I do remember it. I think it was because I made a bad call(I was the ump) and they let me have it(but I never made bad calls haha). As time went on he became part of the wilmette baseball family and the Roemer Park crew. I got to see him every day almost year after year. He was always the most thoughtful person. He worked harder then anyone. He tried to be everyone's friend. Always having a genuine smile! Then as he got older he came around a bit less and less. I'm sure it was because as he got older he had more going on. He will always be part of the wilmette baseball family and the Roemer park crew! He will be missed not only by me but the rest of the crew and family! -hugs-

Dear Mikey,
God needed an Angel, and you ARE AN ANGEL. Like Nicole said this morning was that we don't deserve you. So many will be lost without you, and your unconditional love. I pray everyone will find strength. I know you will be watching over everyone. Please watch over Nicole and the boys. I will never forget you.
Love,
Cara (Thron) Jimenez
