Marian L. (Waidner) Schulte

Marian L. Schulte passed away November 8, 2018 after a brief illness. Born August 19, 1930, grew up in Germantown Philadelphia. Graduated from Germantown Hospital of Nursing in 1951. Worked as a nurse there until moving to Chicago to work at Passavant Hospital. Married Larry Schulte on November 27, 1954. Larry and Marian moved to Morton Grove in 1959, and raised their family there. She was an active member of The Morton Grove Community Church, where she taught children's Sunday school for 35 years, worked as church office secretary, and served on many committees. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader. Later in life, she worked in the children's department of the Morton Grove Public Library. Marian was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed feeding her family and anyone who was in need of a home cooked meal. She blessed her grandchildren with homemade cookies. She was an amazing gardener who surrounded her home with beautiful flower beds and a bountiful vegetable garden. She was feisty and protective of her family and loved them unconditionally. She is survived by her children Dr. Eric Schulte, Kurt (Carol) Schulte, Karen (John) Hogan, and Dr. Brett (Kelli) Schulte; grandchildren Sara and Amanda Schulte, Daniel (Lacey) Hogan, Michael (fiancee Gail) Hogan, Caleb Hogan, Nikkie (T.J.) Evans, and Joey Haines; great grandson Emmett Hogan, the light of her life and her last great joy; two nephews and three nieces; preceded in death by her parents Fred and Frida Waidner and husband Larry Schulte. Funeral service at The Morton Grove Community Church 8944 Austin Ave. Morton Grove, IL 60053 on Monday, November 12th at 10:00 a.m. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery.
