In loving memory of Alexander Thomas Elliott: Alex peacefully passed away on March 31, 2024, after a brief stint at retirement. Alex
was a cornerstone of the community, having dedicated over five decades to the restaurant industry. He was the proud owner of Elliott’s Seafood Grille & Chop House for more than two decades, where he shared his passion for food and hospitality with countless patrons. Prior to his successful career in the restaurant business, Alex managed a family cattle business in Northern Illinois. Born on July 23rd, 1946 and raised in the North Chicago area, he remained deeply rooted in his local communities throughout his life. Alex was known for his unwavering devotion, his heart of gold, and his generosity. He was a devoted White Sox fan, bringing his love for the game into the lives of those around him.
He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by many, especially his daughter Jennifer Elliott Kogut, son-in-law James Kogut, granddaughters Brooke Hartenstein and Alexis Elliott, brother James Elliott, sister-in-law Dolores Elliott, and his cherished nephews and nieces. A wake will be held at Simkins Funeral Home on Sunday, April 14, 2024, located at 6251 W. Dempster St. Morton Grove, IL. 60053 from 1:00pm-5:00pm. All who knew and loved him are invited to join in honoring his memory. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105 in honor of Alex’s legacy.
