David, Nancy, and Families,
We’re very sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. She was a strong woman who fought for her community, her family, and her health throughout her life. I have many fond memories of her and vividly remember seeing her on her daily walk to and from the Community Center.
Regrettably, we will not be able to attend her funeral as we are out of town. You’re in our thoughts, our hearts, and our prayers.

Where do I begin. She taught me how to answer a phone properly at a place of business...try to balance a cash register at the end of a night and speak my mind. She was a brilliant and fierce community activist...funny as hell , my brothers Consigliere and early on, my late Mother's partner in crime. I called her Joan B...never just Joan, because she forbid me to use "Mrs. Dechert" after a certain age. The lady had nine lives and lived every single one of them well. God Bless her family. Debxxx
